Do you want to get away from it all?

Goose Bay is part of the North River, at the southern tip of North Carolina's Outer Banks. This pristine river is home to a wide variety of waterfowl. From its tidal waters, you can harvest clams, oysters, crabs, and fish.

The Tea House is named for the unique boathouses we saw while traveling through Holland. These boathouses were located right on the river and each had a large, elegant house behind it.

A Dutch local explained that in the nineteenth century, the Dutch burghers took long treks down the rivers to their distant summer homes. After docking, they rested and drank tea in the cottages before strolling up to their luxurious homes. Those cottages were known as Tea Houses.
